Planning the Perfect Chatham Wedding Photography Timeline

Why a Timeline Makes All the Difference

As a wedding photographer in Chatham, I have learned that having a clear photography timeline isn’t about being rigid — it’s about creating enough structure so we can relax and enjoy the day. Without one, important shots can get missed or feel rushed. With a carfully crafted timeline, I make sure everything from getting ready to your first dance is covered without stress.

Working Backwards from Your Ceremony

I usually start by looking at your ceremony time and working backwards. This helps us to establish when hair and makeup should be finished, when to take the first-look photos (if you’re having a first look!), and how much time we have for bridal party and family portraits. In Chatham, we also have to consider travel between venues, especially in peak season when traffic can slow things down. Once we have worked backwards through to the morning, I then timeline from the ceremony time onward, to establish the amount of photography coverage you will need for your Chatham wedding.

Building in Breathing Room

A good wedding photography timeline always includes extra time cushions. Things almost always run a little late — a speech goes longer, a family member can’t be found, or weather causes a delay. By allowing extra minutes between key moments, we keep the day calm and flexible. My goal as your Chatham wedding photographer is to keep things moving while making sure you have time to enjoy your special day comfortably.
